Airport Emergency Planning

Gold Coast Airport has developed an Aerodrome Emergency Plan (AEP), meeting the obligations outlined in the Manual of Standards (MOS 139) as derived from Civil Aviation Act 1988 and Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 (CASR).

Aerodrome Emergency Plan (AEP)

The AEP is a stand-alone document for the Gold Coast Airport and outlines the tactical and operational response including incident control and combat agency responsibilities and obligations.

The Plan meets the following objectives:

  • Outlines the roles and responsibilities in response to, and initial recovery from emergencies
  •  Sets out the control, coordination and liaison arrangements for an airport emergency
  • Outlines the activation and alerting arrangements for involved agencies
  • Outlines or refers to regulatory requirement supporting materials
  • Describes the arrangements for review, testing, evaluation and maintenance of the Plan
  • Meets the obligations described in the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 (CASR).
